Topics/Call fo Papers

While practitioners are trying to overcome the restrictions of workflow thinking, the research on the topic is somewhat lagging. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss theoretical and practical problems and solutions in the area of non-workflow based approaches to BPM in general, and ACM (as a leading movement) in particular. This workshop is aimed to promote new, non-traditional ways of modelling and controlling business processes, the ones that suit better the dynamic environment in which contemporary enterprises and public organizations function.
TOPICS:
We strongly encourage the submissions reporting a synergy of innovative research and best practices in the area of ACM and other non-workflow approaches to BPM, including human-centric BPM, data-centric BPM, event-driven BPM, knowledge-driven BPM, etc.
Examples of topics of interest are as follows:
? Theoretical views on business processes not based on the workflow
? Process management based on cooperation
? Non-prescriptive process specifications (e.g. constraint-based, declarative, etc.)
? Non-workflow based process modeling methodologies
? Agile business process management
? Forms of business process agility
? ACM vs. BPM
? Process support: Workflow-based information systems vs. Cooperative information systems
? Empirical studies of Case Management Processes
? Challenges and best practices in ACM
? Tools and applications for ACM support
? Is it possible to automate a non-workflow process without making it too much BPM?
