SCMAS 2013 - The 3-rd International Workshop on Symbiotic Computing and Multiagent Systems (SCMAS-2013)
Topics/Call fo Papers
When an autonomous and intelligent Digital Space (DS) and a Real Space (RS) are closely related to each other and human activities in RS are supported without thinking how DS works, we call this ``Symbiosis'' between DS and RS. Generally, ``Symbiosis'' means a relationship between different types of animals or plants in which each provides for the other the conditions necessary for its continued existence. Enhancing the autonomy and intelligence of DS leads to the symbiosis of DS and RS, where people belongs, and makes it possible that people receive DS services anytime. This kind of information processing is called Symbiotic Computing (SC). ``Symbiotic relation'' is a process in which people provide knowledge and do other things for DS so that both RS and DS develop.
Now, in the IT society, we can not get social convenience, security and safety that are commensurate with the cost of setting up information infrastructures and IT services. Moreover, the information gap is getting wider and new misdeeds are coming up, which will prevent from social activation. In this workshop, we want to discuss the phenomenon in the current IT society to be solved by the SC.
In the post-ubiquitous society, computing models are essential to promote the mutual understanding between RS and DS. The SC can serve as one of the computing models and basic system architectures in the post-ubiquitous society.
The SC can be achieved by Agent Technology and Multiagent Systems (MAS). The aim of SCMAS workshop is to present the innovative researches, and technologies as well methods and techniques related to new concept and application of SC and MAS. The workshop seeks contributions in all relevant areas, including but not limited to the following topics.
