Special Session: Severe Uncertainty in Systems
Organizers:
Thierry Denoeux, Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France (email: thierry.denoeux-AT-hds.utc.fr)
Benjamin Quost, Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France (email: benjamin.quost-AT-utc.fr)
Sébastien Destercke, Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France (email: sebastien.destercke-AT-hds.utc.fr)
In a number of applications (experimental sciences, life sciences, complex systems, risk analysis, ...) systems and knowledge bases may be pervaded with evere uncertainty. Examples include incomplete, imprecise or untrustful information; noisy data; incomplete or vague knowledge; ill--‐specified models; etc…
One possible way to handle such uncertainties is to take them into account in the model. The goal of this special session is to allow researchers to present and discuss methods to model and handle such severe uncertainties in systems and knowledge bases. Contributions may focus on a specific problem and detail how a well-suited solution can be set up.
