IEAS 2013 - 6th International Electoral Affairs Symposium 2013

This year's international symposium, will look at the management and logistics of elections, voter registration and voting methods, including using state-of-the-art technology. The event will also focus on the procurement of materials in the electoral process, such as ballot papers, ballot boxes, polling booths, biometric solutions, security printing, electronic voting machines and electronic counting mechanisms.
Best practice procedures, planning, contract management, and working with suppliers will also be examined. The symposium will also focus on the use of new and innovative technologies in elections and examine current trends, in terms of usage throughout the electoral process. In addition, the use and effect of new social media in the electoral process will be explored, covering voter education, turnout and results transmission. We will also look at internet voting security and the importance of transparent auditing of election technology. Finally, the increase in international and domestic electoral observation will be discussed and delegates will consider whether they are of benefit or a hindrance in holding successful elections.
