Computer Animation is a challenging application in Computer Graphics & Visualisation. This symposium is designed to provide a forum to the researchers, educators, and practitioners in this field to share their opinions. The symposium aims to identify presentations on Key research issues, review the current state-of-the-art developments, and outline future directions. This, embedded with the current research being undertaken in industry and academia, will provide coverage of the salient aspects and sub-areas of Computer Animation within the field of visualisation, computer generated graphics, and beyond.
Authors are encouraged to send their submissions electronically to the chairperson in PC based WORD format. Those author(s) wishing to provide abstracts, or full papers via conventional mail services, are asked to provide 3 hard copies of their work to the chairperson of symposium at the address specified below. Computer Animation video entries to the Computer Animation & Special Effects Show, accompanied by a short paper, will be considered for the presentation in this symposia and the film festival portion of the conference. This symposium seeks original projects that are either completed, or still in production stage, that deal with, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Motion Synthesis and motion capture
Physics-based animation
Vision techniques in animation
Modelling in animation
Rendering and lighting techniques
Animation of deformable materials and characters
Modelling and animation of heads, faces, and hair
Animation of natural phenomena
Real-time simulation used for visualisation
Simulations for virtual reality, training, and online education
Forensic animation and its applications
Animation for Scientific and medical visualisation
