A number of businesses are touched by environmental changes. Such economical activities include farming, forestry, aquaculture, tourism, energy generation and distribution, logistics, and insurance. Environmental factors have also an impact on public health such as those evidenced by epidemiological studies. Human behaviour is as well influenced by environmental conditions; for example, recreation choices are different from rainy to sunny days. This workshop is designed to discuss the key science questions arising from initiatives such as building correlation between environmental sensing data, business operations and social behaviour. This would include issues related to big data, data streaming, web mining, decision analysis, quality assurance and quality control, data re-purposing, risk management, visualisation, interoperability, provenance, open-data policies, to mention some. And more importantly, what it takes to design, implement and maintain a sustainable infrastructure to support informed decision-making in Real-Time. The workshop is aiming at being an attractive forum for deep technical discussions about key aspects of this research area. Invite speakers from leading global companies and international research groups and organizations will be invited.
