EMMSAD 2012 - 17th International Conference on Exploring Modeling Methods in Systems Analysis and Design
Topics/Call fo Papers
Welcome to the EMMSAD (Exploring Modelling Methods for Systems Analysis and Design) website. EMMSAD 2012 is arranged jointly with the EuroSymposium 2012.
The field of information systems analysis and design includes numerous information modelling methods and notations (e.g. ER, ORM, UML, ArchiMate, EPC, BPMN, DEMO) that are typically evolving. Even with some attempts to standardise (e.g. UML for object-oriented software design), new modeling methods are constantly being introduced, many of which differ only marginally from previous approaches. These ongoing changes significantly impact the way information systems, enterprises, and business processes are being analyzed and designed in practice.
This conference focuses on evaluating and enhancing current information modelling methods and methodologies. Though the need for such studies is well recognised, there is a paucity of such research in the literature. Evaluation of modelling approaches remains a challenge in the information systems field. The objective of the EMMSAD working conferences is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in modelling methods and methodologies in systems analysis and design to meet, and exchange research ideas and results. The EMMSAD events also provide the participants an opportunity to present their research papers and experience reports, and to take part in open discussions.

The objective of the EMMSAD conference series is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in modeling methods for systems analysis and design to meet, and exchange research ideas and results. It also provides the participants an opportunity to present their research papers and experience reports, and to take part in open discussions.
Since its start in 1996, the EMMSAD workshops/conferences have always been co-located with the CAiSE conferences.
The AIS SIGSAND EuroSymposium on Systems Analysis and Design has the objective of promoting and developing high quality research on all issues related to systems analysis and design. It provides a forum to researchers and practitioners in SAND in Europe and beyond to interact, collaborate and develop the Systems Analysis and Design area.
