2013 - SPECIAL ISSUE in Spatial Analysis and Modeling on Urban and Regional Development
Topics/Call fo Papers
SPECIAL ISSUE in Annals of GIS and SPECIAL SESSION at Geoinformatics 2013:
Spatial Analysis and Modeling on Urban and Regional Development
Guest Editors and Organizers:
Xinyue Ye, Bowling Green State University, xye-AT-bgsu.edu
Anrong Dang, Tsinghua University, danrong-AT-mail.tsinghua.edu.cn
DESCRIPTION
A spatial perspective is crucial to the understanding of economic phenomena at the scale of cities and regions. On the theoretical front, spatial economics has been stimulated by new economic geography, which adds a significant new dimension to analyzing the role of space and location in economic phenomena. On the methodological front, the research on regional and urban economics is increasingly being supported by the emergence of new analytical approaches, with an explosion of interest in new models and techniques of spatial data analysis and GIS/Remote Sensing.
This special issue and session aims to provide a forum on new algorithms, statistics, software development, and applications on Urban and Regional Development. Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:
inter-regional and rural-urban migration modeling
multi-sectoral regional and CGE models
open source geo-computation and geo-visualization
regional growth and infrastructure
regional inequality and convergence
regional and urban labor markets
regional and urban planning
simulation modeling
space-time analysis and modeling
spatial econometrics
spatial economic data mining
risk assessment and sustainable development
urban sprawl and environmental issues
