Distributed Communication Network System is a new integrated science and technology, which focuses on the distributed network infrastructure, communication protocols, data transmission QoS and Security. It holds huge potentials on cost reduction and service improvement in a wide range of applications, for example, cloud computing, data center, smart grid, intelligent transport, and consumer electronics. Various applications require different technologies to implement distributed communication network.
The modern data center, providing unlimited computing resources, has become a practical concern and has attracted significant attention in recent years. To satisfy the wide spectrum of composite applications, data center network (DCN), one type of distributed communication network system, becomes startlingly large with more and more computing and communication capacities. Complex network structure with cheap switchers needs efficient and high fault tolerant communication technologies to satisfy a wide range of cloud computing applications.
Another type of distributed communication network is wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Different from data center network, WSNs is a self-organized system combined with a large number of low-power sensor nodes, which are connected by a wide range of wireless communication technologies, such as cellular networks, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, RFID, and UWB. In addition, QoS requirements from various applications present big challenges.
Topics of Interest
To ensure success of the applications under these challenges, many issues remain to be solved for distributed communication networks, such as scalable and smart communication protocols in data center network, low energy consumption, anomaly detection and security transmission method for WSNs. This workshop seeks papers describing novel research and development in the field of distributed communication network system. During the workshop session, researchers will be able to exchange their state-of-the-art research experiences and ideas interactively. We invite original contributions on different topics.
