Topics/Call fo Papers

As cloud technology rapidly gains popularity, people from various disciplines have shifted their attention towards cloud. Cloud has extended the usefulness of high performance computing and grid to make an impact across multiple industries. Clouds are designed with data isolation and privilege segregation. End users can gain access to the cloud without compromising the infrastructure integrity. Viable business model can thus be realistically established.
Commercial cloud recently begins to play an important role in the business world and several emerging related technology have become research areas of interest. In this workshop, we plat to provide a forum for rapid dissemination of the most recent dissemination of the most recent developments in cloud performance enhancement.
As the ability to scale computations is directly related to the resource constraints on the cloud. The performance enhancement in resource provisioning and process/VM management and migration are important issues. In addition to resource provisioning, workflow scheduling of applications, especially ones with big data, is also a key in bringing up the cloud performance. The impact of additional resources have on the applications is somewhat more complex than just simply adding more servers to the cloud. The performance and efficiency also ties to how well virtualization technology is utilized and how information can be securely delivered on the cloud. As cloud can be considered a hostile environment, trust is needed to be established among the users and service providers.
This workshop intends to address the problems described above. The selected articles will offer the readers with knowledge and new ideas in cloud performance enhancement from different angles. The contributions are solicited in performance enhancement of the following areas:
Task scheduling
Resource provisioning
VM/process migration optimization
Cloud security
Big data staging and data intensive computing
Hybrid cloud performance analysis
Scalability and elasticity of the cloud
Distributed data management
Virtualization technology
Other practical experiences in building cloud
Implementation of efficient applications and services on the cloud
