Hybrid Intelligence (HI) identifies an integration of different techniques, approaches and thoughts to overcome individual limitations and achieve synergistic effects. It has been applied to provide human-?‐like expertise embodied by domain knowledge, uncertain reasoning and adaptation to complex environments for specific purposes (e.g., decision support, knowledge management, etc.). It covers a wide areas ranging from science, engineering and business and is considered as an essential tool to tackle real-?‐world research problems. At the same time, novel techniques including artificial intelligence, machine learning, evolutionary computing, social and affective computing, cognitive system, fuzzy system, etc. have been used for supporting the implementation of HI with various levels of success. This special session aims at providing a forum for researchers, engineers, and scientists to discuss the state-?‐of-?‐the-?‐art issues on computational awareness and to exchange ideas, experiences, and the latest results in this emerging field.
Topics of Interests:
This special session calls for original papers describing the latest developments, trends, and solutions of hybrid approaches for development of intelligent systems. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to:
Computation of Hybrid Intelligence
Issues concerning quantitative and mathematical models and algorithms that prompt the hybridization are concentrated. Examples include the hybridization of artificial neural network, fuzzy algorithms, evolutionary algorithms, machine learning, awareness, statistical techniques, cognitive models, etc. to prompt the growth of intelligent systems.
Applications of Hybrid Intelligence
Issues concerning techniques and methods that implement the hybridization of heterogeneous methodologies and prompt autonomous and human-like systems are concentrated. Examples include data mining, information processing, recommendation, personalization and adaptation, optimization, smart services and systems for e-business, e-learning/e-society, green city, etc.
Cases or Studies of Hybrid Intelligence
Practical and real-?‐world experiences that demonstrate the value of incorporating hybrid approaches over the working systems are concentrated.
Submission of other related topics are also encouraged particularly on new and in progress projects.
