Tourism is one of the greatest industries. More people travel around the world, and the Internet provides various information without distance. However, as more people enjoy traveling, more fine-tuned travel plans and tourism resources are required. Thus, more effective computational supports are indispensable for tourism industries and tourists. In due course, human awareness promotion is the most important key notion for sustainable tourism innovations. Customized recommendations, new tourism resource discoveries, predictions of uncertainty and risk, all require better human awareness, and such awareness must be promoted through intensive analyses of vast amounts of data.
STIIS2012 is the international workshop on sustainable tourism innovations that are based on various information systems. It provides an opportunity for related researchers, engineers, and scientists to discuss on computational promotions of awareness for sustainable tourism innovations, and to exchange ideas, opinions, and the latest results in related fields. STIIS 2012 is to be held as part of CEC 2012. Accepted authors are required to make their regular registration for CEC 2012. Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of CEC2012.
