The 3rd International Workshop on Unstructured Data Management (USD2012)
In Conjunction with WAIM 2012
Harbin, China, Aug 18, 2012
Conference Web Site: http://db.hit.edu.cn/waim2012/index.html
With the consistent increase of computing and storage capacities (due to hardware progress) and the emergence of many data-centric applications (e.g. web applications), a huge volume of data has been generated. Over 80% of world data today is unstructured with self-contained content items. How to effectively handle and utilize unstructured data becomes a critical issue to these data-centric applications.
The aim of this one-day workshop is to bring together researchers, developers, and users to discuss and present current technical developments in the area. It will be a forum not only for presenting new research results but also for the discussions of practical experiences that can help shaping and solving critical problems in
unstructured data management. Authors from both academia and industry are invited to submit papers on the following but not limited topics. Topics of interest (but not limited)
# Unstructured data modeling, storage, indexing, and access
# Metadata management for unstructured data
# Cloud computing based unstructured data management
# Web-based unstructured data management
# Unstructured data extraction, integration, annotation, classification, and synchronization
# Unstructured data querying, retrieval, analysis, and mining
# Unstructured data provenance and uncertainty handling
# Applications of unstructured data management
