LB-DM 2012 - The First International Workshop on Location-based Data Management
Topics/Call fo Papers
The First International Workshop on Location-based Data
Management (LBDM 2012), August 18, 2012, in Harbin, China
(in conjunction with WAIM2012)
Aim and Scope
Nowadays location-based services (LBS) have been widely accepted by mobile users and attracted significant attention from both the academic and industrial community, thanks to modern mobile devices (e.g., smartphones) with built-in global position systems (GPS).
Many location-based services, such as Foursquare and Facebook Places, bring unique location-aware experiences to users. Mobile internet usage should take over desktop internet usage. Therefore, location based data management will be more and more important.
The objective of this workshop is to provide researchers with a forum to discuss and share the state-of-the-art of location based data management techniques. The workshop hopes to explore the research challenges in location-based system design, core algorithms, query
optimization techniques, performance modeling and evaluation, from the perspective of location-based applications. We welcome research papers of original work that address fundamental research issues in location-based data management.
Topics of Interest
The suggested LBS-related topics include, but are not limited to:
? Spatio-Textual Search
? Geographic Information Retrieval
? GIS Architecture and Middleware
? Human Computer Interaction and Visualization
? Location-Based Services
? Location Privacy, Data Sharing and Security
? Mobile Systems and Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks
? Spatial Analysis and Integration
? Spatio-Temporal Data Analysis and Management
? Spatial Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
? Spatial Data Quality and Uncertainty
? Spatial Data Structures and Algorithms
? Urban and Environmental Planning
? Trajectory Data Management
