We would like to cordially invite you to consider contributing your
expertise to a forthcoming book entitled Biological Data Mining and
its Applications in Healthcare. The book is scheduled to be published
by World Scientific (http://www.worldscientific.com/).
The objective of this book is to disseminate influential research
results and best practices of data mining approaches to cross-
disciplinary researchers and practitioners from both the data mining
disciplines and the life sciences domains. Each chapter of this book
will start with a section to introduce a specific class of data mining
techniques, written in a tutorial style so that even non-computational
readers such as biologists and healthcare researchers can appreciate
them. This is then followed by a detailed case study on how to use the
data mining technique in a real-world biological or clinical
application.
If you wish, you may also propose to write on a different topic that
you think is relevant to the book (a list of possible topics of
interest is listed at http://www1.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/~xlli/BioDM_Book.htm...
for your consideration). Should you accept this invitation, we would
like to kindly ask that, on or before April 6, 2012, you submit via e-
mail a chapter proposal for review.
An approximate schedule of the book is as follows:
April 6, 2012: Due date for submitting a 2-5 page manuscript proposal
(clearly explaining the mission and concerns of the proposed chapter).
April 20, 2012: Notification of proposal acceptance.
Aug 10, 2012: Due date for submitting full chapters.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact us. We appreciate your consideration of this invitation and
hope to hear from you soon!
