CALL FOR CHAPTERS
(Deadline March 25, 2012)
Embedded and Real Time System Development: A Software Engineering Perspective : Concepts, Methods and Principles
https://sites.google.com/site/embeddedspringer/
To be published by Springer, under series "Studies in Computational Intelligence" (SCI) , www.springer.com/series/7092 . The book is Indexed by DBLP, Ulrichs, SCOPUS, MathSciNet, Current Mathematical Publications, Mathematical Reviews, Zentralblatt Math: MetaPress and Springerlink.
CONTEXT
Now a day’s embedded and real-time system contains complex software. In the future even more products will likely contain complex software. These embedded systems complexity is increasing, and the amount and variety of software in these products are growing. This creates a big challenge for embedded and real-time software development process. To reduce the complexity of development cycle many product development companies and researcher has paid their attention to optimize the timeliness, productivity, and quality of embedded software development and apply software engineering principles. However, software engineering principles can be applied to embedded system in its current form. Unfortunately, many available software development model don’t take into account the specific needs of embedded and systems development. The software engineering principles for embedded system should address specific constraints such as hard timing constraints, limited memory and power use, predefined hardware platform technology, and hardware costs. There is a need to develop separate metrics and benchmarks for embedded and real-time system. Thus, development of software engineering principles for embedded system and real-time system becomes an independent discipline. The objectives are to give you practical, practices as well as conceptual knowledge of the latest tools and methodology in embedded software engineering.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience of this book will be designers of embedded software, academician, students, practitioners, professionals and researchers working in the field of embedded and real-time system development. This book will be invaluable for theoretical analysis, algorithms and practical applications of software engineering for embedded and real-time systems.
