PHC-ICAS 2012 - International Workshop on Personalized Human-Centric Context-Aware Systems(PHC-ICAS 2012)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The concept of personalization has gained traction driven largely by the demands of computer-mediated collaboration implemented in distributed wireless and mobile systems. Personalisation has historically focused on the person; however, in recent times there is a recognition that personalization extends to entities, artifacts, and devices in mobile systems. Collaboration(s) cover many functions including: (1) resource distribution, (2) on-line collaborations, and (3) P2P (individual and group optimization) activities and can be classified under the general heading of Personalized Service Provision (PSP). Personalisation has historically focused on the person; however, in recent times there is a recognition that personalization extends to entities, artifacts, and devices in mobile systems. User and device profiling (such a profile is termed a context) forms a central function in realizing effective PSP while accommodating the related issue of constraint satisfaction. Awareness is the ability to be smart in interpreting feelings and perceptions. In Contextual Computing, a context definition should include contextual information to enable systems to effectively and precisely understand users and their situated role (a situated role describing the current situation and environment individual users experience during their interaction with the system) while reacting dynamically to the users feelings and perceptions. Due to the attachment/embedment/blending as well as emerging intelligent systems, ordinary things surrounding us are capable of computing and communicating, connecting and/or being connected to each other, and behaving and acting rationally with some smartness or intelligence. Intelligent Context-aware systems can also provide active and reliable services for individuals or communities in the “intelligent” or “smart” hyper world. The ultimate goal is to build smart personalized context-aware systems and aware-based applications in theoretical and practical developments.
This workshop provides a forum for engineers, researchers, and scientists to exchange the latest results of Personalized Human Centric Intelligent Context-Aware Systems.
