worldagro 2012 - 5th World Congress of Agronomists and Agrologists.
Topics/Call fo Papers
From September 17-21, 2012, Québec City will host the Vth World Congress of Agronomists and Agrologists. This event, which is held every four years, brings together professionals from around the world and offers them a forum for exchanging on issues pertaining to the profession and provides for discussion on the challenges they face. Appropriately, the theme of the 2012 Congress is “Feeding the World”.
The Congress will take place in the Québec City Convention Centre located in the heart of the City, across from the Parliament Buildings and just a few steps from major tourist attractions.
ABOUT THE CONGRESS
Every day, agronomists and agrologists shape sustainable agricultural production, feed the world and give people access to healthy, high quality food. They do this through their roles as agricultural advisors, extension agents, scientists, and leaders in marketing, processing and food distribution, as well as agricultural policies. The challenges they encounter are on a local or global scale, including every level and possible point of connection in between these two extremes.
The Congress aims, among other things, to reflect on current and future agricultural issues and challenges, focusing on the place of agronomists and agrologists at the heart of these issues.
Although science based, the Congress is aiming at professional agrologists and agronomists who are directly involved with all the stakeholders that contribute to the agricultural sector. It will also be an important opportunity for networking on a world level.
Beside a series of interesting main presentations, a few short presentations within each of the session themes of the Congress will be welcome. Proposals for short presentation have to be done through a call for abstract. Please notice that, even though the whole Congress will be held in English, Spanish and French, the call for abstracts and the short presentations will be done exclusively in English.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Under the main theme of “Feeding the World”, 16 different session themes have been selected. Each session will be opened by one or two main presentations, followed by three short presentations selected among the abstracts received within the present “call for abstracts”. Each short presentation will be for 10 minutes. Each session will end with a discussion period covering the main as well as the short presentations.
