ISE 2010 - the 8th International Symposium on ECOHYDRAULICS (ISE 2010)
Topics/Call fo Papers
Welcome to the 8th International Symposium on ECOHYDRAULICS (ISE 2010)
On behalf of the entire Local Organizing Committee and IAHR-Ecohydraulics Section members, we take great pleasure in inviting you to the 8th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics (ISE), September 12-16, 2010. This international symposium has been promoted and coordinated by the International Association for Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR), and many hydro/ecology-related international professional societies. This symposium intends to provide a special forum to exchange ideas and information on the emerging technologies related to the areas of ecohydraulics and ecohydrology.
The Korean hydro ecology communities, which have about sixty strongly committed IAHR members and many hydrologist and ecologists, look forward to once again welcoming international colleagues to this symposium at an attractive North East Asian region. The last time Korea hosted the IAHR-related conference was the 31st Biennial Congress in 2005 with some 1,000 registrants attracted and still being considered as one of the most successful Congress that IAHR has ever had.
The 8th ISE is an important international professional and industrial event that you will not want to miss! Themed â?œBridging between Ecology and Hydraulics and Exploring the Societyâ?™s New Need - Living with Natureâ??, this symposium will be a perfect venue for practitioners, engineers, researchers, scientists, managers and decision makers from all over the world to exchange the most advanced developments in the ecohydraulics field.
Many domestic and international organizations with broad representation in water engineering and ecology communities - namely KWRA, KSL, KSWQ, and KRA in Korea, JSCE and ECES in Japan, CHES in China, and of course IAHR - are collaborating with the LOC to successfully organize this 8th ISE. We certainly look forward to your joining us and actively participating in this symposium in Seoul, aptly celebrated for its unique location and vivid modern skyscrapers harmonized with the old palaces and downtown of a 600-year history. Korea, â?œLand of the Morning Calm,â?? is a fascinating land whose 5,000 year-old culture and history blend harmoniously with its unique mixture of new advances and old traditions.
Moreover, this symposium will be held right after the 9th International Conference on Hydroinformatics to be held in Tianjin, China during September 7â??11, 2010, which takes only one hour for flying from Tianjin to Seoul. Any participants who want to take both conferences, therefore, would have an advantage because of a short distance between Seoul and Tianjin.
Come and Join us at the International Symposium on ECOHYDRAULICS !
