CSHL 2012 - 2012 CSHL Meeting on Mechanisms & Models of Cancer
Topics/Call fo Papers
You are cordially invited to participate in the ninth biennial meeting on Mechanisms & Models of Cancer to be held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York. The meeting will begin on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, and will conclude with lunch on Saturday, August 18. The specific goal of this conference is to bring together a diverse group of scientists studying various molecular, genetic, biochemical and animal model approaches to the analysis of cancer. Junior and senior researchers will join to discuss their latest research findings and technical approaches toward the analysis of cancer models and mechanisms.
The format of the meeting will include morning and evening sessions consisting of eight or nine 15-minute talks per session, selected from the abstracts, principally on unpublished work. In addition, there will be two poster sessions, held in the afternoons. The organizers will decide the suitability of each abstract for oral or poster presentation, but please specify if you prefer a poster.
Keynote Speakers:
Jacqueline A Lees, MIT Center for Cancer Research
Charles J.Sherr, HHMI/St. Jude Children's Res. Hospital
Topics:
Tumor Suppressor Networks
Cancer Metabolism
Signaling Mechanisms
Mouse Models
Microenvironment
Therapeutics
‘Omics
Discussion Leaders:
Gabrielle Bergers, University of California, San Francisco
Joan Brugge, Harvard Medical School
Lynda Chin, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Karen Cichowski, Brigham & Women's Hospital
Frederic De Sauvage, Genentech
Tyler Jacks, HHMI/MIT
Michael Karin, University of California, San Diego
Scott Lowe, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Richard Marais, Institute of Cancer Research
John Maris, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Ari Melnick,Weill Cornell Medical College
Carol Prives, Columbia University
David Sabatini, Whitehead Institute
Abstracts should contain only new and unpublished material and must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers and individual session chairs. Status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.
We are eager to have as many young people as possible attend since they are likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have applied for funds from government and industry to partially support graduate students and postdocs. Apply in writing to meetings-AT-cshl.edu stating need for financial support - preference is given to those submitting abstracts.
We look forward to seeing you at Cold Spring Harbor in August.
