The conference is in honor of Partha Niyogi, the Louis Block Professor in Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Chicago. Partha lost his battle with cancer in October, 2010. He was 43.
Partha has made fundamental contributions to a variety of fields including language evolution, statistical inference, and speech recognition unified by the central idea of learning.

This conference will reflect Partha's interests and pay honor to his broad vision and unique insights.
