GIScience 2012 will be hosted in Columbus, Ohio, continuing the highly
successfully conference series that attracts leading researchers from
a wide spectrum of scientific research areas such as cognitive science,
computer science, engineering, environmental sciences, geography,
information science, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, social
science, and statistics. The conference has a tradition of focusing on
emerging topics and basic research findings across all sectors of the
field, and submission of pure application papers is discouraged.
The conference has two refereed paper tracks: full papers that will
be published in a Lecture Notes in Computer Science volume by Springer
and extended abstracts. In addition, the conference also includes a
variety of workshops and tutorials on September 18, covering
cutting-edge topics in related fields of GIScience.
