International Conference on Advances in Modeling, Optimization and Computing (AMOC-2011) is intended to stimulate interaction between applied mathematicians, statisticians, OR specialists, engineers, biologists, and other scientists who frequently encounter modeling and optimization problems that have some explicit or implicit computing contents. The conference will bring together renowned experts of developed as well as developing countries together with the academicians, scientists, researchers and practitioners. It will be a great opportunity to discuss the theory and practice, and future directions on the topic concerned.
A huge participation of scientists, academicians and practitioners from India and abroad is expected. The excellent working atmosphere of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India for the high-quality research will be helpful to the delegates for getting opportunity to develop research collaborations with the faculty members of the Institute. The key note addresses, plenary lectures and other technical presentations will not only focus on current trends but also provide directions for future research and applications.

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is among the prime institutes of national importance in higher technological education and in engineering, basic and applied research. The Institute (Formerly University of Roorkee) has completed 150th year of its existence in October 1996 and attained the status of IIT in 2001. It has also been considered a trend-setter in the area of education and research in the field of science, technology and engineering. IIT Roorkee offers Bachelor's Degree courses in 10 disciplines of Engineering and Architecture, and Postgraduate's Degree in 55 disciplines of Engineering, Applied Science, Architecture and planning. The Institute has facility for doctoral work in all Departments and Research Centres. For more information visit www.iitr.ac.in
Department of Mathematics attained its present status of an independent department in 1960. Growing steadily, today the department not only teaches various topics in mathematics to undergraduate and postgraduate students of different engineering and science departments, but also runs its own P.G. courses in Industrial Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. The department also conducts an interdisciplinary MCA Course. Recently the department has started 5 year Integrated M.Sc. degree program in Applied Mathematics where admission is made through JEE. The Department also offers facilities for research work leading to Ph.D. degree in different branches of Pure and Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research and Computer Applications.
AMOC 2011 is intended to provide a common platform for researchers, scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to present their latest research findings, ideas, developments and applications in the following topics (but are not limited to):
?Mathematical Modeling and Simulation
?Industrial Mathematics, Biomathematics
?Fluid Dynamics, Mechanics
?Operations Research, Optimal Control Theory
?Probability and Stochastic Models
?Queueing Theory and Performance Modeling
?High performance and Distributed Computing
?Networks and Wireless Communications
