2020 - Snow fighting activities in the airport and the cost of these activities

As one of the complex and costly elements of the aviation system, airports must be gathered under one integrated roof. In order to do so, these units require the use of advanced technology to improve service quality and offer speed, comfort and time savings together, which leaves airport management at high costs. While there is a capacity problem in some airports in the summer months, the snow and icing created by the heavy winter conditions on the runway cause the flight operations to be delayed or canceled at the airports in some regions.
This negatively affects all individuals and institutions that have a direct or indirect relationship with airports. To prevent this, the managers of the airports, which are affected by the heavy winter conditions, can benefit from the airports in every season of the year by evaluating the cost burden of snow-fighting activities together with the demand. In this study, not only have the snow-fighting activities, which have an important place in the airport activities in some regions within the framework of the cost structure of airports, been examined in detail, but also the effects of such activities on airport costs have been tried and tested.
