10th MEXICAN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER SCIENCE
21- 25 SEPTEMBER 2009, Mexico City, MEXICO
CALL FOR PAPERS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUBMISSIONS AT http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=enc2009
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>> Full paper submission deadline (extended): 15th June 2009 <<<
CONFERENCE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mexican International Conference on Computer Science is one of the
most important scientific actions of the Mexican Society on Computer
Science (SMCC). It promotes the publication of scientific results of the
international community related to applied and fundamental research on
Computer Science. Today, Computer Science has enlarged its horizons and
it is practiced under multidisciplinary contexts that introduce new
challenges to theoretical and technical approaches. In this sense, the
conference provides a main scientific track but also workshops and
tutorials on emergent and hybrid topics and technologies.
SCIENTIFIC TRACK
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This track will address topics concerning these issues focussing on
issues concerning human computer interfaces, algorithmic, data
management and exploitation and distributed systems. Authors are invited
to submit original works on relevant topics, including, but not
restricted to:
* Software engineering techniques and methodologies: agile software
techniques, software processes and modelling, software architectures,
quality and metrics, programming paradigms (objects, components,
services), autonomic systems.
Chair:
Maria Valeria de Castro, URJ, Spain, vcastro [at] escet.urjc.es
* Data management and exploitation: distributed databases, stream
management systems, sensor based networks and databases, multimedia data
retrieval and management, natural language processing, database tuning,
data mining, information visualization, information retrieval, P2P systems.
Chair:
Sodel Vazquez Reyes, ITESM, Mexico, vazquezs [at] itesm.mx
* Distributed systems: middleware services, Web engineering, ubiquitous
and mobile distributed computing, grid computing, collaborative
computing, groupware development frameworks and toolkits, mobile
collaborative systems, workflow management.
Chair:
Miguel Aguilar Cornejo, UAM-Iztapalapa, Mexico, mac [at] xanum.uam.mx
* Algorithmic and Applied Mathematics: distributed algorithms, parallel
computing, evolutionary algorithms, model checking, modal logic,
incomplete reasoning.
Chair:
Efr?n Mezura, LANIA, Mexico, emezura [at] lania.mx
INDUSTRIAL, APPLICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE TRACK
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This year the conference will open a space for an industrial track for
practitioners willing to report interesting experiences in developing
solutions and systems in the industrial arena. The Industrial,
Applications, and Experience Track covers innovative commercial
implementations, novel applications of technology, and experience in
applying recent research advances to practical situations, in any of the
following areas:
* Adapting DB Technology to Industrial Settings and Requirements
* Application Areas (Government, Finance, Humanities, Home and
Personal Computing, Telecommunications, ...)
* Bio-Informatics/Life Sciences
* Business Process Engineering and Execution Support
* Data Management for Developing Countries
* Digital Libraries/Document Management
* Electronic Commerce
* Engineering Information Systems
* Enterprise Data Management
* Enterprise Resource Planning
* Environmental Management
* Geographic Information Systems
* Industrial-Strength Systems based on existing technology
* Medical Systems
* Reporting of Pitfalls and Difficulties
* Retail Systems
* Self-Managing Systems
* System Design and Implementation
VENUE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
French poet Andr? Breton famously called Mexico the surrealist country
par excellence, and Mexico City, the capital seems to revel in its
strangeness. The world's third largest urban area (by some estimates)
fills a highland basin 2240m above sea level, so you might already feel
a bit light-headed upon arrival. The city impresses visitors as a
wonderfully weird and welcoming world, and captivates them with its
year-round springlike climate, bubbling street life and abundant
cultural offerings. ENC 2009 will profit from the cultural opportunities
offered by Mexico City (http://www.mexicocity.com.mx/indexen.html) and
will combine science with an interesting cultural program. Here some
links about the content of the program:

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Research papers
Authors are invited to submit full papers (12 pages, IEEE style) to this
topic according to the conference schedule. All accepted full papers
will be published in the IEEE conference proceedings and a selection of
papers will be published in a recognized journal with ISSN registration.
Industrial, Applications, and Experience Papers
Full papers or extended abstracts must be submitted electronically,
using the conference management tool. In particular, each paper must be
formatted according to the conference's camera-ready format (IEEE style)
and the page length is restricted to at most 12 pages.
PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tutorial Proposals
Dominique Decouchant, CNRS-LIG, France, Dominique.Decouchant [at] imag.fr
Tutorial proposals must clearly identify the intended audience and its
assumed background. Proposals must be no more than 5 pages and must
provide a sense of both the scope of the tutorial and depth within the
scope. The intended length of the tutorial (1.5 or 3 hours) should also
be indicated, together with justification that a high-quality
presentation will be achieved within the chosen time period and the
indication of the main learning outcomes. Proposals should also include
contact information (name, email, address, telephone number, and FAX
number) and a brief bio of the presenters. If the proposed tutorial has
been given previously, the proposal should include where the tutorial
has been given and how it will be modified for ENC 2009. Proposals must
be submitted electronically. Tutorial presentations will be made
available to ENC 2009 participants.
Workshop Proposals
Rafael Lozano Espinosa, ITESM, Mexico, ralozano [at] itesm.mx
Francisco Acosta, UJAT, Mexico, francisco.acosta [at] ujat.mx
ENC 2009 will feature a number of co-located workshops on broad topics
related to emergent topics in Computer Science, and held during the main
conference. Workshop proposals should be no more than 5 pages and
include the workshop title, technical description of the topic and
issues, justification, potential officers, duration, and history (if
any) of the workshop.
