The 14th IIR-Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants - GL2020- will be held from December 6th to December 9th, 2020, at the Kyoto International Conference center and Doshisha University (Kambai-kan and Ryoshin-kan), Kyoto, Japan.
Experts, researchers, engineers, and politicians are invited to present their contribution and join the discussion on the latest progress in the area of natural refrigerants. The conference welcomes research subjects covering fundamental studies (such as thermodynamic properties or heat and mass transfer), system developments (such as heat pumps, chillers refrigerators), and their applications.
The venue of this conference, the Kyoto International Conference Center, hosted the Conference of Parties III (COP3) in 1997, where the Kyoto Protocol to counter global warming was adopted. As the Kyoto Protocol represents the first major step of the international community to prevent global warming, Kyoto is thus considered to be the birthplace of this universal effort against global warming. We Japanese are proud that the GL2020 can be held in this historical place.
Kyoto is the center of the traditional Japanese culture and Buddhism, as well as home of the production of fine textiles and other Japanese products. Several of the historical temples and gardens of Kyoto were collectively added as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994.
In this season, the beauty of Kyoto reaches its highest; temples, gardens and streets are naturally decorated by the colors of the autumn foliage that will surely delight you.
We believe that all the participants will not only take part in fruitful discussions but also enjoy their stay in Kyoto.
