AIMS AND SCOPE
SKIMA 2011 is an international opportunity for researchers and industrial experts in knowledge management, software Engineering and Information Systems to share their knowledge, ideas and experience. The main focus of the SKIMA 2011 topics is to explore new solutions to answer the growing demand for action-oriented research to provide insights into challenges and issues related to the design, development, deployment and assessment of sustainable ecosystems. After the success of the previous editions (Chiang Mai 2006, Kathmandu 2008, Fez 2009 and Paro 2010), SKIMA 2011 will be held this time in Benevento, south Italy.

BEST PAPER AWARD
The Mediterranean Journal of Computers and Networks” (MJCN) offers a “Best Paper Award” - £200 - to encourage young researchers in SKIMA 2011 conference.
SPECIAL SESSIONS
Special sessions focusing on specific topics and research interests are also proposed and chaired by scientists and industrials.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Papers submission will be reviewed with a double-blind review made by external scientific reviewers. The acceptance of the papers will be made based on technical quality, scientific relevance, originality and their relevance for the conference. All submissions must follow the conference template provided by IEEE (see Participation - Submission section). Submission of papers will be carried out electronically via the web in pdf, word document or tex format. After acceptance, the authors are required to prepare 8 pages (maximum) papers for the inclusion in the proceedings of the conference. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. The extended version of some selected best papers will be proposed for publication in special issues of The Mediterranean Journal of Computers and Networks (MJCN), The International Journal of Product Development (IJPD), The International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management (IJPLM), the International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management (IJOQM) and The International Journal of Intelligent Engineering Informatics (IJIEI).
