ReMAR 2012 - Second ASME/IFToMM International Conference on Reconfigurable Mechanisms and Robots
Topics/Call fo Papers
With the development of science and technology and with space exploration, hazardous environment work, and production requirements of small batch and quick change-over, the traditional concept of mechanisms and robots development is facing a challenge in the 21st century to adaptability and reconfigurability.
The Second ASME/IFToMM International Conference on Reconfigurable Mechanisms and Robots is to follow on the success of the First ASME/IFToMM International Conference on Reconfigurable Mechanisms and Robots. This conference is meant to provide an international forum for presenting and discussing new mechanisms and robots emerged in the 1990s with topologically adaptable mechanisms or robots and for discussing their uses in domestic, hazardous, out-space and manufacturing environments. The main areas of this conference include the following subjects:
? Reconfigurable Mechanisms
? Bio-reconfiguration Engineering
? Reconfigurable Robots
? Metamorphic Mechanisms
? Reconfigurable Manufacturing
? Biological Self-Assembly Mechanisms
? Kinematics & Dynamics of Reconfiguration
? Metamorphic Robotics
? Variable Topology Modelling
? Modular Devices
? Bio-metamorphic Robotics
Paper Submission
All papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format at the official submission website. Authors are requested to submit a full-length paper. Abstract-only papers are not acceptable. The length of a submitted paper should not exceed 10 pages and should be formatted in the proper publication style (Word and Latex templates available on the conference website). Submitted manuscripts should be original work and not concurrently submitted to any other forum. Submitted papers will be reviewed by members of the Programme Committee and selected external reviewers. Selected papers will be listed in EI Compendex and loaded to IEEE Xplore and further reviewed and published in special issues of leading international journals. Details of the submission procedure are available on the official conference website (www.ReMAR2012.com or www.kcl.ac.uk/nms/depts/engineering/research/Robotics/Conferences/ReMAR2012/index.aspx).
Special Sessions and Workshops
The ReMAR 2012 Committee welcomes participants to organize special sessions or workshops that are on or close to the above listed topics in this conference. Interested individuals should submit proposals to the secretariat by 31 October 2011. Submitted proposals will be evaluated by the Programme Committee.
Location
ReMAR 2012 will be held at Tianjin University, China, which is the first modern Chinese University and was established in 1895 as Peiyang University. Tianjin is one of four metropolis cities and is 29 minutes away from Beijing by a high-speed-train link.
