ISCD 2011 - 9th International Symposium on Cable Dynamics (ISCD 2011)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 9th International Symposium on Cable Dynamics (ISCD 2011) will be held in Shanghai (China) on 18-20 October 2011.
Following the eight previous symposia held in Liège (1995), Tokyo (1997), Trondheim (1999), Montréal (2001), Santa Margherita Ligure (2003), Charleston (2005), Vienna (2007) and Paris (2009), the Organizing Committee has decided to hold an ninth edition of this International Symposium on Cable Dynamics in Shangai (China) : ISCD’11
Scope of the ISCD’11 Symposium
This series of symposia is dedicated to practical problems that have been observed and/or measured on cable structures. ISCD is devoted to interchange of ideas between several engineering disciplines relative to power lines, guyed masts, cable-supported bridges, etc. (any original subject will be appreciated, including nano, micro systems or biological concern)
Scenarios to be considered for such structures are movements (from very small to huge ones), wrap-up, rupture e.g. by material fatigue and unacceptable or catastrophic response due to natural forces (of which some fraction may be motion-dependent).
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is of growing interest and new contributions would be welcomed, especially in regard with moving cables and wake effects.
Measurement systems (including real time) are a key point.
Contributions on fatigue diagnosis and state of ageing as well as tool for preventive maintenance are clearly favoured.
Industrial practice is particularly welcomed in our symposium.
