Workshop Theme and Goals

This workshop will bring together computer exports and clinicians and other health care providers working in the area of Alzheimer's.

This workshop has the following aims:

Explore how computerized testing for AD can contribute to more objective and yet culturally sensitive evaluation of cognitive function, that also allows for longitudinal follow up of subjects that could thus support research at the clinical arena at universities, community based practices and community organizations.
Explore how computerized and culturally adapted computer games can be used as both cognitive stimulation for subject and as an alternative means for communication for families and care gives with the patient.
Explore how computerized personalized reminiscent therapy can serve both as a cognitive stimulant and as AAC tool for care givers and families through out the long course of the disease.
Topics of Interest

We particularly solicit contributions on the following subjects:
Non-obtrusive monitoring and analysis of activity, well-being, mental state
Ambient/mobile assistance in private life, for health care and therapy
Ambient/mobile assistance for business processes and documentation
Inclusion of social networking aspects
Serious games for affect and behaviour related assistance , especially communication of families with patients
Methods for visualizing activity and mental states
Novel interaction methods tailored to the family's needs to communicate with the elderly suffering from cognitive dysfunction
Studies on elderly and their attitudes to and interaction with technology
