Topics/Call fo Papers

Big data is an emerging paradigm applied to large data sets where size, complexity and velocity are beyond the ability of a normal computer software and hardware tools. This vast influx of Big Data is being generated by immense velocity, volume and variety through cell phones, social media posts, transaction records, digital recordings, intelligent sensors etc. The massive sample size and high dimensionality of Big Data introduce unique computational and statistical challenges, including scalability and storage bottleneck, noise accumulation, and measurement errors etc. On the other hand, Big Data offers the potential for cities to obtain valuable insights from a large amount of data collected through various sources, and the Internet of Things allows the integration of sensors in the real-world environment using highly networked services. In a data-centric digital world where data and information is generated and collected with a rate which is hardly been calculated. Exploration of the interconnection of data helps to link information and formulate strategies efficiently.
As populations grow and resources become scarce, the efficient usage of these limited resources becomes more important. Big Data and Smart cities can play a critical role in the efficient consumption of materials and resources by using statistical inferences and scientific conclusions. Cities built on and integrating with big data, the cities of the future are becoming a realization today.
As the concept of Big Data and Smart City is relatively new and unexplored, the conference will provide an opportunity to share and discuss the new knowledge for planning and creation of smart cities using the potential of Big Data. The use of Smart City technologies results in cost efficiencies, resilient infrastructure, and an improved urban experience. Big Data and Smart City attracts the attention of a number of research challenges to academia, practitioners and policy researchers.
The purpose of the conference on Big Data and Smart City is to bring together researchers, designers, developers and practitioners interested in the advances and applications in the field of smart cities, green information and communication technologies, sustainability, energy aware systems and technologies to realize smart communities of the future. The discussions and deliberations may help share / spread light on innovative solutions/technologies to change urban planning & living, and quality of life in the rapidly growing cities.
