Branded 2011 - Branded Spaces 2011 : International Conference and Open Space on Contemporary Branding
Topics/Call fo Papers
The aim of this conference is to advance knowledge about branded spaces by disseminating new research and best practices, and by encouraging the evolution of new ideas, themes, and questions. For example: Is space still a branding tool or is space becoming the essential “playground” for contemporary branding? Karlshochschule International University is pleased to enrich the dialogue between academics and practitioners who often approach branding from different perspectives. The conference adopts an international and interdisciplinary approach to address the theme in greater complexity.
The conference will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th of September, 2011 with a pre-conference day for students and doctoral candidates on Wednesday 14th of September.
The conference program will include keynote speeches and paper sessions on Thursday and an “open space meeting” to discuss and develop the theme on Friday.
Topics:
Both works-in-progress and full papers by researchers, doctoral candidates and practitioners are sought. We welcome theoretical and empirical contributions that address the general conference theme at different scales and contexts.
Contributions will likely focus on one of the following sub-themes:
brand lands (e.g. company museums, permanent exhibitions or theme parks),
place brands (e.g. countries, cities or touristic destinations, street branding),
store brands (e.g. flagship stores, concept stores or outlets),
themed and specialized branded spaces (e.g. virtual, temporary or mobile spaces, 3D branding).
Submission Information:
Please send a one-page abstract to papers-AT-branded-spaces.de.
An abstract should clearly state the purpose, results and conclusions of the work. Keywords (3-5) should be enclosed. Please provide full name, affiliations and up-to-date contact details.
Submission of abstracts is possible between 1st of December, 2010 and 15th of March, 2011.
The presenting authors will be notified by 1st of April, 2011.
The registration of these authors is required no later than 15th of April, 2011 in order to limit the number of cancelled papers.
The conference languages are English and German. All keynote speeches will be held in English, other contributions can be in either language. Lectures should be prepared to last no more than 45 minutes including discussion. The presenting authors don’t have to pay the registration fee.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Karlsruhe for a pleasant conference!
