International Workshop on Educational Informatics

The workshop is a satellite event of the 8th Ershov Informatics Conference PSI'11 (June 27 ? July 01, 2011, Novosibirsk, Akademgorodok, Russia, psi11).

The workshop is devoted to the state-of-the-art in educational informatics and the problems of its development, as well as to its history and promising directions. Urgent problems will be presented from the viewpoints of a researcher and a teacher.

In addition to regular talks, a "round table" session will be held on the problems of educational informatics and methodology of informatics teaching. The topic to be discussed is "How learning of informatics can influence the common understanding formation".

The workshop will be held under the slogan "Informatics in the early 3rd millennium".

Educational Informatics workshop addresses the following topics:

* Education models;
* Education environments in informatics;
* Information systems of teaching informatics;
* Distant, local and active training styles;
* Ontology of education;
* Successful experience of teaching informatics;
* Methodological problems of education;
* History of informatics and the human element of education.

Submissions

To apply for participation, the author should submit a paper containing original contributions that have not been published or submitted to other conferences/journals. The paper should be submitted as a Word document (A4 format, 12-point Times New Roman). There are two kinds of submissions:

* regular paper describing fully developed work and complete results (12 pages / 30 minute talks);
* short paper reporting on interesting work in progress and/or preliminary results (7 pages/15 minute talks)

Submissions should also include a short abstract together with personal information including names, affiliation, phone and fax numbers, postal and e-mail addresses.
Please send your submissions and application for participation to the Workshop Secretary tanja-AT-iis.nsk.su not later than March, 31, 2011
The authors will be notified about the PC decision by April, 20, 2011. Final versions of the accepted papers should be sent to the secretary till May, 10, 2011.
Proceedings

A volume of Workshop Proceedings will be given to the authors at registration or sent by post to those who will not be able to come.
