Introduction
In mathematics and computer science, the graph theory is a very widely studied topic. Graph is a mathematical structure used to model pairwise relations between objects. A graph in this context is made up of vertices and nodes which are connected by edges, or lines. A graph may be undirected, meaning that there is no distinction between the two vertices associated with each edge, or its edges may be directed from one vertex to another. Graphs are one of the prime objects of study in discrete mathematics.
The paper written by Leonhard Euler on the Seven Bridges of Königsberg and published in 1736 is regarded as the first paper in the history of graph theory. Euler's formula relating the number of edges, vertices, and faces of a convex polyhedron was studied and generalized by Cauchy and L'Huilier. Graph theory are being used to represent real life problems including social networking problems. This book is an advanced study of the applications of graph theory.
Objective of the Book
This book aims recent developments on graph theory. There are vast literature in graphs. Graph theory can be used to represent social networks, artificial neural networks and many complex networks. Few chapters will focus on the relations of graph theory and complex networks. These results are helpful in robotics and machine learning. Besides, different engineering issues are closely related to fuzzy graph theory.
Target Audience
The target audience of this book will be composed of students, research scholars, academics, practitioners, and professionals interested in an innovative overview of graph theory. Moreover, the book will provide insights and support from practitioners and academia in order to highlight the most debateful aspects in the field.
Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
Social Networks
Fuzzy Graph Theory
Energy of graph
Domination theory
Graph indices
Applications of graph theory
Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before October 6, 2018, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by November 5, 2018 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by December 5, 2018, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-reso... prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication,Advanced Applications of Graph Theory in Modern Society. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorialDiscovery®TM online submission manager.
