Information Technology (IT) is regarded as an enabler of economic development. Consequently GCC countries are putting increasing emphasis on the adoption of IT, hoping to accelerate development in all sectors of their industry, government and business. Realizing the importance of Information Systems for sustainable development, the Information Systems Department, part of the College of Commerce and Economics at Sultan Qaboos University, is organizing an International Conference on Information Systems. The main objectives of the conference are to:
- Provide a forum to discuss the issues and challenges arising from IT/IS
adoption, as being faced by industry and government in Oman, and
other countries.
- Bring together IT/IS Researchers and practitioners to learn from and
share each other’s experiences.
- Promote research and collaboration in IT/IS by all stakeholders at local,
regional and international levels.
CONFERENCE TRACKS (TENTATIVE)
The conference would to invite papers on following tracks but not limited to:
- E-government issues and solutions
- E-commerce and E-business Challenges
- Knowledge Management & Business Intelligence
- Trends in Web technologies
- IS Security, Social Networking and Privacy
- Mobile Computing
- Trends in IS
- IS industrial applications
