The Purpose of the Conference:

The CCWWP conference is devoted to the study and promotion of creative writing and creative writing pedagogy in Canada. A call for papers will go out in late 2011 and early 2012. Participants are expected to be creative writing teachers and students in both traditional institutions such as universities and colleges as well as less academic collectives such as writers’ circles. Individual writing students, teachers, freelancers and interested parties may also attend.

The Conference Program:

The program will be developed according to the response to the call for papers, but it is also certain to contain prominent Canadian and internationals speakers in plenary and keynote talks.

Participants are expected to be creative writing teachers and students in institutions such as universities, colleges, non-credited programs, writers’ circles, art organizations, local literary and writing communities organizations. Individual writing students, teachers, freelancers and interested parties may also attend.

The Site of the Conference:

The conference will take place at the Lakeshore campus of Humber College and at certain downtown Toronto evening locations. The Humber location is on the beautiful grounds of an old psychiatric hospital with a Canadian literary pedigree. The priest from Morley Callaghan’s Canadian classic, Such is My Beloved, spent some time here.
