The Athens Center for Classical & Byzantine Studies (ACCBS) of ATINER is organizing its 2nd Annual International Conference on Classical and Byzantine Studies, 3-6 June 2019, Athens, Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Philology, the Athens Journal of History, Athens Journal of Humanities & Arts, Athens Journal of Mediterranean Studies and the Athens Journal of Architecture.
The conference aims at bringing together academics and researchers from around the world to present current research on all aspects of Classical and Byzantine cultures, including (but not limited to) the study of literature, philosophy, history, law, politics, theology, music, art, architecture, science, technology, as well as the Classical tradition and the reception of Classics by Western or Byzantine intellectuals. Scholars may participate as stream leaders, presenters, session chairs or observers; however, they may present only one paper and chair only one session in the conference.

Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized, including a pragmatic symposium (as organized in Ancient Athens but fine-tuned to synchronous ethics), a special one-day educational island tour, a Myceanae and island of Poros visit, an Athens educational walking tour, a day trip to Delphi, and an ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion visit. To submit an abstract, please fill out the abstract submission form and send it via email to addressed to: Dr. Tatiana Tsakiropoulou-Summers, Director, Athens Center for Classical & Byzantine Studies (ACCBS) & Associate Professor, The University of Alabama, USA. Abstracts should include the following: Title of Paper, Author(s)’ Full Name(s), Affiliation, Current Position, an email address, and at least 3 keywords that best describe the subject of your submission. Decisions are reached within 4 weeks.
