About the Institution
Raja Balwant Singh College, Agra formerly known as Balwant Rajput College, is known for its phenomenal epoch making progress. This institution started as a small boarding house for 20 students, way back in 1885.The credit for the same goes to the founder Raja Balwant Singh ji, Ruler of Awagarh Estate. The Boarding House was recognized as High School in 1899.This was raised to level of an Intermediate College in 1928 and to that of a degree college in 1940.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology was started in the year 1996 with three branches of Engineering, viz., Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Food Technology. Chemical Engineering branch was added in the year 1999.In 2004 Mechanical Engineering & Bio-Technology were started. In 2006, M.Tech (Food Technology) course was started. These courses are approved by A.I.C.T.E and affiliated to M.M.T.U (formerly U.P.T.U Lucknow).Since 1996, eleven batches have passed out and the students are placed in different industries all over India and abroad.
About the Conference
This is a two days event on NEWER ADVANCES IN FOOD SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY organized by the Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, R.B.S. College, Bichpuri, Agra
The Conference targets at bringing together the technical skills of the industry along with academic expertise to disseminate knowledge on the various newer advances and developments in the Food Processing Sector and to emphasize on the different Processing Technologies and its relevance to the Indian Market.
The Theme of this National Conference highlights the newer trends in the field of Food Technology that play a vital role in the optimization of process conditions and variables and lowering the production costs with enhanced nutritional quality, improved shelf life and effective & attractive packaging under environment friendly conditions leading to better acceptability of the product in domestic and global market.
The Conference intends to provide an ideal platform for the technical experts and participants from academics& related industries to exchange their ideas and research for the better awareness understanding in this direction for the benefit of the society as a whole.
Theme of Conference
The conference is proposed to cover the following sub themes:
1. Advances in the field of Food Processing, Preservation and processing equipments.
2. Advances in the field of Food Packaging, Packaging Equipment & Machinery.
3. Application of Biotechnology in Food Processing Industry including Fermentation Technology.
4. Application of Computers in Food Industry.
5. Advances in the field of Food Processing Waste Management.
6. Advances in the field of Quality Assurance Techniques in Food Industry.
7. Advances in the field of Value Addition in Foods for domestic & export markets.
Call for Papers
? Original research papers pertaining to the theme of the conference can be presented by registered delegates at NAFSAT-2011.
? One registered delegate can present only one paper; however, he/she could be co-author in more than one.
? Poster papers will be classified according to the topic or subject listed. Schedules of poster presentations will be announced few days before the event. Abstract of poster papers will be published in souvenir of NAFSAT-2011.
? Undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, academicians and persons from industry are eligible to participate in the conference.
? Abstracts will be scrutinized by the expert panel and are subjected to editorial corrections.
? Abstracts meeting all the requirements as per given format will be accepted.
? Font type: Times New Roman.
? Font size: Title 14pt bold, Author’s names, affiliation, e-mail address and abstract 12 pt normal.
? Name of the author presenting the
paper should be in bold.
? The text of the abstract including
title should not increase 300 words.
? Abstracts should be composed on MS Office Word.
? Poster size: 48” (L) X 36” (B)
? Participants will have to display their posters at the conference venue on March 6, 2011.
? There is no restriction on the number of entries.

? Other delegates: Rs. 1000/-
After 5th February, 2011
? Student delegates:Rs. 750/-
? Other delegates: Rs. 1500/-
The registration (fee as applicable) may be submitted in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of “DIRECTOR, FET RBS COLLEGE, BICHPURI, AGRA” payable at Agra.
Accommodation
Accommodation for outside delegates can be provided on payment basis in hotels. The tariffs are as follows:
