Introduction
Smart city is an urban development direction that embodies information technology and network technology infiltrating into every aspect of the urban life. The smart transportation system has been more and more important in a smart city, which provides a feasible and reliable solution to the mobility problem in the city. Smart transportation system has experienced many years of development. At present, with the fast development and application of mobile Internet, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), big data and so on, smart transportation system will have more ability to meet these challenges including the efficiency of mobility, transportation safety, Quality of Service (QoS), environmental protection, and system resilience. The 2nd IEEE International Conference on Smart City Innovations is specially planning a workshop to discuss these challenges as well as recent progress.
This international workshop aims to attract researchers and practitioners in the field of transportation systems to join us along this new promising SRTS direction. We hope to take advantage of this opportunity to exchange ideas and share their Research & Development (R&D) findings and experiences.
