On November 12-16, 2018, the joint annual summit of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) and the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) will be held in the U.S. for the first time in the beautiful city of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This conference features the VIII World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF), the X Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC), the XIV Global Student Forum(GSF), a Global Entrepreneurship Challenge for students and the first ever Global Career Fair (GCF). This is the largest engineering education gathering in the world and brings together a large number of stakeholders, including engineering educators, leaders, students, industry, governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, etc., to learn, share, and build fruitful and long-term collaborations.
The conference theme is Peace Engineering. The goal of the conference is to have a "global brainstorming" event through papers and talks to address the vital question, "How do we re-engineer engineering education to enable our students to imagine, design and create for a World of Peace?". It is to challenge participants to think intentionally about educating engineers so that a sense of social responsibility and justice is at the core of their work.
We invite you to submit abstracts that challenges all of us at global academic and other engineering institutions to think imaginatively about "Peace Engineering Education".
Themes for papers can be under the categories of:
How do we teach/learn about Peace Engineering?
Relationships among academia, industry, governments, multilateral organizations, NGOs
Hands-on Education/Experiential Learning/Inquiry Learning/Problem Based Learning
Entrepreneurship in the Circular Economy – 4th Industrial Revolution and Enabling Success
Peace Engineering Challenges and Emerging Ideas
