The Second International Conference of ICT for Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change (AACC'18) will be held at Cali (Colombia) on November 21-23, 2018. This conference is organized by the Inter-Institutional Network for Climate Change and Security Food of Colombia – RICCLISA, Universidad Icesi (Cali – Colombia), Centro Regional de Productividad e innovación del Cauca - CREPIC and Universidad del Cauca (Popayán – Colombia).
Over the last decade, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) haves emerged as tools supporting farming and agricultural production. This is reflected in the multiple hardware and software applications providing services to reduce effects caused by diseases and pests in crops, or in real-time monitoring of weather conditions and water quality parameters used for farming and production. Sustainable supply, risk and uncertainty management in agriculture productivity increase and cost reductions are some issues that big data solutions and data analytics can help to solve.
This international conference will look at emerging problems and new ICT solutions to address the effects of climate change and climate variability in the agricultural sector, proposing common strategies and guidelines for incorporating risk management and adaptation to climate change.
AACC'18 brings together scholars, researchers, experts and practitioners with common interest in the interdisciplinary fields of ICT applied to Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change. The conference provides an opportunity for participants to share knowledge and novel approaches in the application of information and communications technologies to solutions that allow improving farming and agricultural production in climate change scenarios. These include decision support and early warning systems for agriculture, sustainable water management, predictive models of growth and crop production, and land coverage dynamics for agricultural systems, networking for supporting the adaptation to climate change and food security.
The (AACC'18) conference themes are the following (but are not limited to):
Systems for prediction of disease or pests
Digital image processing
Data Fusion
Geographic information systems
PROCEEDINGS
The conference proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing (AISC) journal. When formatting papers, please refer to the Springer-Verlag web site, and strictly follow the Instructions to AISC Authors.
Submissions must not exceed 10 to 16 pages (Full papers) and 7 to 9 pages (short papers).
Authors of selected papers of AACC'18 will be invited to submit extended versions of their works to a special issue of International Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Information Systems (IJAEIS) and Revista de ingenierías Universidad de Medellin
