IWFSOC 2018 - 1st International Workshop on Free Space Optical Communications (IWFSOC)
Topics/Call fo Papers
FSO communications are becoming increasingly important as the future data link systems for the application to downlinks to earth and airborne platform, earth-to-ship/ship-to-ship communications, data center networks replacing RF or fiber based systems as well as satellite and planet links. For those FSO communications and networks to be reliable and practical, some of challenges need to be identified and solved. One of those include channel modeling, waveform design, acquisition-tracking-pointing algorithms, overcoming techniques against harsh weather dependent channels. This workshop is designed to discuss on-going research issues on FSO communications with the focus on communication and information theoretic problems as well as on the design of FSO networks.
Topic of interest include, but not limited to:
Channel modelling and characterization
Channel capacity
Waveform design
FSO networking
Diversity techniques for FSO
Wavelength division multiplexing for FSO
Hybird RF/FSO technology
MIMO for FSO
Acquisition, tracking, and pointing techniques
Multiple access techniques
