CALL FOR YOUNG RESEARCHER'S TRACK / DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM

The Young Researcher's Track (YRT) at the AIED 2011 conference provides opportunities for cross-fertilization of knowledge and ideas from young researchers and graduate students in the many fields that make up this interdisciplinary research area. The YRT will serve as a forum for young researchers and graduate students to present their work, exchange experiences with peers, discuss ideas for future research and receive feedback from established AIED researchers and wider AIED community.
The theme of the AIED 2011 conference is "Next Generation Learning Environments: Supporting Cognitive, Metacognitive, Social and Affective Aspects of Learning". The topics of interest are related to the main conference topics (see http://www.aied2011.canterbury.ac.nz/call-for-pape...).

The YRT welcomes papers that report on work-in-progress from graduate students and young researchers. The papers must be authored only be the young researcher(s). In particular, students pursuing their PhD studies should describe their research that is at a stage where feedback from the AIED community might be of value.

=== STRUCTURE OF YRT PAPERS ===

The papers should by well organised be described concepts in a logical and coherent manner. They should describe,

* The problem(s) that is addressed by the research and how fits to the bigger picture

* The aims and objectives of the research

* The methodology to achieve the aims and objectives

* The main contribution(s) of the research to the AIED community.

=== FORMAT OF YRT PAPERS AND SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS ===

* 3 pages long, including references

* Papers will be submitted in electronic format via the Easy Chair conference paper management system. Instructions on how to submit papers are on the AIED 2011 website (http://www.aied2011.canterbury.ac.nz/submissions).

=== PANEL ===

At the end of the YRT, there will be an international panel, including several senior researchers. Researchers and graduate students participating at the YRT will be asked to provide questions for the panel in advance, such as questions about research and publishing in general, the process of getting a PhD, and/or general research directions in the area.
