The river of time flows at the same pace, bringing us from our past to our future in a boat called "now", despite our attempts to accelerate or slow it down. Though the ship of forensic geneticists‘ community will just arrive to Seoul in few weeks, we already started preparations for the following event that will be held in Prague, the Czech Republic. It is my great honour to greet you all on behalf of the organizers of the 28th International Congress of International Society for Forensic Genetics (ISFG), the Czechoslovak Society for Forensic Genetics and C-IN.
For centuries, Prague has been considered magical, inspiring, and mind-opening place. During his reign, Rudolph II, the Holy Roman Emperor and intellectual devotee of occult arts and learning, supported and invited to Prague a lot of notable philosophers and thinkers, including astronomers Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler, and alchymists Edward Kelley and John Dee. This renaissance "think-tank“ concentrated at Rudolph’s Court in Prague helped to seed what would be later called scientific revolution. It will be extremely interesting to see how the global meeting of forensic geneticists in Prague influences the course of scientific history!
We will do our best to organize an exciting and memorable congress where new areas of forensic genetics, new theoretical and technological advances in the field, as well as variety of cultural programme will be presented.
We invite all scientists interested in forensic genetics to join us in 9. – 14. 9. 2019 in Prague.
