The Italian Society of Ergonomics is pleased to host in 2018 in Florence, the 20th international IEA conference.
It is the first time in the history of the 50 years of the IEA and the SIE that this event will take place in Italy and we are proud!
The theme of the congress is “Creativity in Practice”, with reference to the typical challenge of the Italian way to innovation engaged to transform the results of research on innovation in concrete actions to improve the quality of life and work.
The event will be not only an occasion for researchers but also an international workshop devoted to the multidisciplinary work among professionals from different countries, all engaged in a brainstorming session to generate new ideas.
The world is changing very fast and we are pretty sure that this issue will be crucial for the future, we need the contribution of all areas of knowledge to solve today’s problems. The community of professionals who deal with ergonomics and human factors is capable of building a better world around people.
To this end, we decided to get to the congress of 2018 through a series of other events taking place in various countries (France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and even outside Europe), with the aim of promoting a participatory approach for the organization of the conference.
Florence is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world and it proves that creativity is imagination but is especially practical concreteness.
It will be a great opportunity not only for research but also for conviviality, showing the Italian way of living, the spirit of the Italians.
The goal of IEA 2018 is to eat ideas, according to Giorgio Gaber we are convinced that:
“An idea, a concept, an idea until it remains an idea is only an abstraction. If I could eat an idea, I would have made my revolution.”
