Topics/Call fo Papers
The Fifth International Symposium on Environmental Vibration (ISEV2011) will be held in Chengdu, China, from October 20 to 22, 2011, hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University. The four previous conferences in the series were held in Hangzhou (2003), Okayama (2005), Taipei (2007), and Beijing (2009). This symposium is devoted to prediction, control and mitigation of the environmental vibrations caused by train/road traffic, construction activities, factory operations and other excitations. The symposium will provide an international forum to exchange the knowledge, ideas and experiences in this domain. Those who are interested in the environmental vibration problems are welcome to participate in this symposium. After the symposium, you are also welcome to go sight-seeing in Sichuan.
Prospective authors are invited initially to submit a one page abstract (about 300 words) in English. The abstract should clearly describe the major content and conclusions, and include paper title, authors’ name, affiliation, mailing address, telephone/fax number and E-mail address. The papers should be sent by e-mail, fax or mail to the conference secretariat. We strongly encourage the submission of abstracts electronically as a MS word or Adobe PDF document. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by experts in the field based on originality, quality and clarity. The Scientific Committee will select the qualified papers into the pre-published proceedings which will be submitted to the Index of Scientific & Technical Proceedings (ISTP).
Topics:
1)Wave propagation in soils
2)Soil dynamics and soil-structure interaction
3)Prediction and analysis method of environmental vibration
4)Vibration of train, track and subgrade/bridge system
5)Environmental vibration induced by road traffic
6)Ground vibration induced by underground traffic
7)Environmental vibration monitoring and evaluation
8)Mitigation measures against environmental vibration
9)Structure vibration analysis, monitoring, evaluation and control
10)Vibration effects on human, machines and constructions
11)Environmental vibration problems due to other sources (e.g. winds, earthquake)
12)Vibration problems in practical engineering
