CMMMW5G 2018 - INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CENTIMETRE AND MILLIMETRE WAVE BASED COMMUNICATIONS FOR 5G NETWORKS (CMMMW5G)
Topics/Call fo Papers
As the research and standardisation efforts for 5G gathers pace, there is now a broad understanding that the technologies developed for both the sub 6 GHz (cm-wave) and above 6 GHz (mm-wave) spectrum will play vital roles in the 5G landscape. The phase I of 3GPP NR standardisation will focus on the spectrum of below 30 GHz, for eMBB (extreme Mobile Broadband) applications of 5G. The recent announcements by the European Commission on 5G pioneer bands in 700 MHz, 3.5 GHz and in 26 GHz spectrum is further evidence of the importance of these 2 components for comprehensive 5G RAN solutions.
The CmMmW5G workshop is an evolution from the two successful previous editions of the mmW5G workshop held in conjunction with WCNC 2016 and 2017. This will cover the innovative RAN technologies currently being developed for cm-wave and mm-wave spectrum, for both the 5G radio access and 5G broadcast domains. The focus will be on 5G eMBB applications as covered by the currently developed 3GPP NR standards, as well as on URLLC (Ultra Reliable and Low Latency Communications) and mMTC (massive Machine Type Communications) including verticals like Automotive, Smart cities, Healthcare and Industry 4.0. In addition, Broadcast/Multicast applications are considered where different verticals can be supported efficiently.
This full-day workshop is organised and technically co-sponsored by two of the flagship projects in the Phase II of the H2020/ 5GPPP initiative – ONE5G and 5G-Xcast. We will bring together leading names in industry, academia and research institutes to present, discuss and debate the latest developments. The program will include four keynotes by leading personalities in the 5G R&D domain, a panel session with the participation of key personalities from all major regions and oral paper presentation sessions. Please refer to the detailed program for more details. We look forward to seeing you and sharing ideas at this exciting workshop at WCNC 2018.
