The 2018 Mayo Clinic Perinatal Nursing Conference – Before, Birth, and Beyond is designed to address current clinical information for the care of pregnant women and families across the continuum. Highlights include: perinatal mood disorders including PTSD, new trends in prenatal care and childbirth and neonatal drug withdrawal. Accomplished faculty will provide insight for all care providers, novice to expert.
Conference goals:
Explore current technologies and health practices that support optimal outcomes in pregnancy and beyond.
Identify signs and symptoms of neonatal drug withdrawal, treatment, and support of neonate and family.
Examine perinatal psychological health for patients and care providers.
In support of improving patient care, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Participants can earn up to 7.25 ANCC nursing contact hours for attendance at the conference, commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity and completion of the evaluation.
Mayo Clinic Section of Social Work has been designated by the Minnesota Board of Social Work as an approved continuing education provider. This conference fulfills requirements for 6.5 continuing education hours.
