International Conference on Human Computer Interaction “IndiaHCI” is the leading conference organized annually in the different cities of India.
International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) in collaboration with ABB-corporate research is pleased to announce the 3rd India HCI conference to be organized from 9-11th April 2011 in Bangalore.
The theme for this year conference, “This is the Time”, recognizes the visible footprints been left in past and looking forward to connect us together at the right time and at the right place to address wider aspects of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and usability research.
The tradition of conference around “HCI theme” in India dates back to the year 2000, when few enthusiasts from Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) organized a small conference in Bangalore. The present India HCI series of conference was first organized in year 2004 with more or less individuals’ effort in Bangalore. Ultimately it gained the momentum when people and professionals across the Indian IT industry and academia felt a need of right forum to discuss and discourse the progress and challenges covering a broader perspective of Human Computer Interaction. Reincarnation of India HCI conference in year 2009 at Mumbai got the mandate from larger audience of conference participants to get organized annually in different cities of India. India HCI 2010 was organized in collaboration with IDID 2010 (Interaction design for International Development 2011) and enjoyed the participation from Europe and USA.
Bangalore- well known as the research hub for Indian IT industry is a habitat of approximately 25000 usability and HCI professional, ranging from service industry to the product development companies like Google, Microsoft, and Adobe etc. and therefore offers a natural venue for HCI conference in order to gain the threshold in this effort.
