The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers
(IEICE) announces a forthcoming special section on “Enriched
Multimedia” to be published in Transactions on Information and
Systems. We invite submissions of original and unpublished papers that
review and promote recent progress in the field of enriched
multimedia.
1. Scope
The following topics fall within the scope of this special section.
However, the submissions of papers on other
topics conforming to the aim of this special section is encouraged.
– Protect content value ― Media Security, Content Security, Access
Control, Watermarking, Steganography
– Develop content value ― Content Integration, Cross-media Retrieval,
Media Restoration, Multimedia
Annotation, Multimedia Abstraction
– Create content value ― Content Design, Realistic Media Creation,
Universal Media, Digital Entertainment
– Measure content value ― Content Evaluation, Image/Audio Quality
Measurement, Perception/Cognitive
Metrics, Human Audiovisual System
2. Submission Guidelines:
– The manuscript should be prepared in accordance with the guidelines
given in “The Information for Authors”
(http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_iss.html). Authors are
encouraged to use the IEICE Style File
(http://www.ieice.org/ftp/index-e.html). The preferred length is eight
pages for a PAPER and two pages for a LETTER with the format shown in
the IEICE Style File.
– Submit the manuscript through the IEICE Web site
(https://review.ieice.org/regist/regist_baseinfo_e....). Choose
“[Special-MU] Enriched Multimedia”
from the menu for “Journal/Section” on the submission page.
– In the initial submission, not only a manuscript PDF file for
PAPER/LETTER but also the related electronic
files (TeX/Word files for body and independent figure files,
furthermore, authors’ photos and biography if the
manuscript type is PAPER) are required.
– Submission deadline for manuscripts is March 26, 2018.
3. Notice to the Authors:
– Authors must agree to the "Copyright Transfer and Page Charge
Agreement" via electronic submission.
– Authors of accepted papers will be requested to pay a page charge to
cover part of the cost for publication.
– The standard period between notification of conditional acceptance
and the second submission is 60 days. It
may be shortened in accordance with the review schedule.
– At least one of the authors must be an IEICE member when the
manuscript is submitted for review except
for invited papers. Authors unaffiliated with the IEICE can apply for
membership at
https://www.ieice.org/eng/join_ieice/index.html.
– Open access: The IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems is an
open access journal since January,
2017. Open access to “IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems”
is available via the J-STAGE
(https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/browse/transinf).
